Kids exploring emotions and empathy (January, week 2)

IMG_1756

This week in art we will….

Finish last week’s pictures and begin a drawing using the leading sentences : ‘How do you feel today?’ and “How are my friends feeling?”

Emotions: Happy, confused, gleeful, elated, sad, mad, nervous, proud, scared, angry, lonely, curious, frustrated….

Learning objective: Learning proportions of the head while allowing children to express their emotions.

If there is time children can choose from one of the following creative drawing assignments:

“Draw an imaginary room with at least three people in it each doing something different.”

“Draw a picture of your pet or the pet you would love to have.”

“Draw a picture of your house and yard with a GIANT boy or girl in the yard.”

“If you were a flower, what kind of flower would you be? Draw a picture of yourself as that flower.”
