Elementary Art, February
Beaver mascot art competition instructional Powerpoint presentation
In February (week 1, 2 & 3) we will work on submissions for the Bienniale 2016 art competition for Musee de Peinture, Saint Frajou, France. Last year two of our students won prizes and we hope to do even better this year!
About Bienniale 2016
Create a beaver mascot for the competition.
We will learn about beavers so we can draw them better. Beaver facts: they have webbed back feet, a tail that looks like a paddle, eat plants, mate for life and are nocturnal creatures.
Theme: Traditional architecture in your country
Week 1 ( February 2-6): Learn to draw beavers and create winning beaver mascot for the art competition.
Week 2 ( February 9-12): Finish our mascot submissions and start working on part 2 of the competition.
Week 3 ( February 16-20): Finish our 3D houses.
We will make our own 3D Amsterdam block of houses, photograph it, and enter it into the competition.
- Design and construct a model of a house made entirely from paper and glue. You may not use any form of drawing or painting media.
- The paper structure must be designed and engineered strong enough to support itself.
- The paper structure must be designed for attractiveness. Braces, struts or any other form of support should either be hidden from view or designed to complement the attractiveness of the house.
- The model must have at least one entrance.
